ps3 just got the red light of death
the guy we had repair it a few months ago did a half assed job, and one of the components burned out from what i can tell. i have to find out how to repair it long enough to backup some vital saves, since sony sucks and it’s more or less impossible to just pass an hdd over to a new system. can’t send it in because they’ll just format it and yeah. anyone know a fix that will last long enough to backup some data so i can switch it over to a new ps3?

I haven’t been able to play minecraft for six months now. It started when a new version around 1.1 came out, and as always, I deleted the minecraft folder and ran the app. Some sort of error occurred, and when I tried to load worlds, minecraft black-screened. Recently however, i do not know as of when, instead of allowing me to get to the world selection screen, minecraft now jumps straight to black-screen. I tried every backup I had, and oddly only my backup of 1.7.3 worked. unfortunately, it had yogbox installed so further modification is fruitless. I have been roaming the Internet for these past months and only one thread has actually gotten me somewhere, https://getsatisfact…_blackscreening and unfortunately, it did not resolve my problem. It does however contain some background information so i would highly recommend reading it. I can’t tell where the problem is, but it appears to be at my end, maybe with java. I’m on a shared computer (a mac, no less) and thus, formatting is not an option, nor is doing anything risky. I can’t try uninstalling/updating java, as this does not exist for a mac to my knowledge. here is the error log I get when deleting the contents of my minecraft folder, and running the app.

so this is why minecraft hates me. i have no idea whats going on, and i’ll post this on the forums, but whenever i create or load a world on minecraft, it genereates world and whatnot, but before the game comes up, it says saving chunks, then blackscreens. i have tried everything i could find, including but not limited to
- deleting minecraft and re-downloading the app from minecraft.net to get a vanilla file.
- not using ANY mods
- force update
- setting java to default preferences
thats what i can think of, and i have no idea what to do, i’ll post a question here in a minute if you guys have any ideas, and please tell me if this is helpful to me!

i have no idea what’s going on. i deleted all files that i can find pertaining to minecraft, including the app, and i reinstall and update so it makes a new file. when i go to generate a world it goes fine, but before it loads, it says saving chunks then blackscreens. i have no mods on my system and i’m running a mac. please help! the fate of minecraft is at stake!
